Donald Trump to visit Britain in July: Boris Johnson

Washington/London: Britain's top diplomat Boris Johnson has confirmed that US President Donald Trump will visit England July.

As per Johnson, Trump will visit the European nation on July 13.

He called Trump's proposed visit to the UK as the 'greatest'.

Johnson tweeted: "FANTASTIC news that President @realdonaldtrump will at last come to Britain on 13 July. Looking forward to seeing our closest ally and friend on the GREATest visit ever. ."

In January this year, Trump had cancelled his official visit to the United Kingdom after a diplomatic fallout with the latter.

Trump cited the reason that he was not a "big fan" of the new embassy for cancelling his trip to the European country.

However, the UK and US have renewed their diplomacy following the nerve agent attack on former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury region of Britain.

Both the UK and the US blamed Russia of carrying out the act, as they claimed that a Novichok nerve agent was used to harm the former spy and his daughter.

What followed was a diplomatic fallout between the West and Russia as more than 20 countries, including the US and the UK, ordered the exit of Russian diplomats from their countries.

Russia too paid back in the same coin, asking diplomats from the UK and the US to leave.

In recent weeks, France along with the UK and the US teamed up and conducted a coordinated airstrike against Syria, which they held accountable for carrying out an alleged chemical attack in Douma region, near the national capital Damascus.

The said attack killed at least 40 people, though Syria denied having played a role in it.

The joint front confirmed that its soldiers attacked Syrian chemical facilities.

The strike received severe condemnation from Russia, China and Iran.
