ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is key in the development and implementation of Amnesty International's communication strategy in the East Asia region. Working with and as part of the communications team in the regional office, you will ensure all campaigns and communications messages are communicated in a compelling manner across channels that is relevant to target audiences.

You'll also be a skilled and versatile storyteller in Chinese and ideally in English as well. You will be able to roll up your sleeves to develop and deliver innovative and locally relevant cross-platform content mainly for Chinese social media platforms. You will also be assisting with English content from time to time.

You will be working with a team and network of freelancers and vendors to deliver on objectives. You will be working towards a clear KPI.

As part of our East Asia regional office in Hong Kong you will work in collaboration with colleagues regionally and globally to develop engaging communications for human rights campaigns in the region.

ABOUT YOU
You are an accomplished communicator with experience communicating to a Chinese audience. You are familiar with Chinese social media platforms and you are able to write, edit and produce audio-visual content about human rights issues in an engaging manner. Experience communicating with an English-speaking audience is an added advantage.

You should have at least 2 years of experience in journalism or online media content production. Knowledge in digital marketing, graphic design or video production is a bonus.

You'll be bilingual (English and Mandarin Chinese) and be fluent in reading, writing and spoken for both. You will also have experience working in a complex global organisation with diverse stakeholders.
